Overview of Services

FunctionalMatch provides informational and marketing services designed to help individuals explore potential healthcare provider options within the functional and root-cause medicine space. FunctionalMatch does not recommend, select, assign, or refer users to healthcare providers.

We are not a medical provider and do not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. FunctionalMatch is not intended for use in medical emergencies or for urgent or acute medical needs. If you have a medical emergency, call 911 or seek immediate medical attention.

Our directory presents independent listings for users to browse. Users independently evaluate and choose whether to engage with any provider.

You understand and agree that FunctionalMatch is not responsible for any medical decisions, therapies, or outcomes resulting from interactions with any provider.

Provider Network & Platform Role

FunctionalMatch lists independent practitioners. It does not verify or interview practitioners before listing them. Listings do not represent every available provider, and inclusion is not an endorsement. Users confirm qualifications, services, licensing, availability, and fees directly with each practice.

Practitioners are independently reviewed by you, and the final decision is always yours.

Compensation & Transparency

Practitioner marketing and visibility services may involve flat fees, not compensation based on patient volume or medical outcomes. FunctionalMatch does not prioritize providers or select practitioners for individual patients. Separate growth-services engagements are distinct from directory browsing.

Directory Browsing

Patients browse listings, review profiles, and contact practices directly. FunctionalMatch does not collect patient intake data, evaluate health histories, select providers, or arrange patient appointments. Listings do not guarantee fit, availability, or medical outcomes.

User Responsibilities

By using the site, you agree that:

• Information you provide is accurate and voluntary
• You are at least 18 years old
• You understand this is not medical care
• You are solely responsible for your healthcare decisions
• You will not send medical records or detailed clinical histories to FunctionalMatch when browsing the directory

No Medical Advice

All content, including provider information, descriptions, and educational material, is for informational purposes only. It is not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Always consult a qualified healthcare provider regarding any medical condition or treatment decisions.

Data Privacy & Texas Law

FunctionalMatch handles all user information in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable law, including the Texas Health & Safety Code Chapter 181 and the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act. Any personal information or self-reported health or wellness information you provide to us will be used and maintained in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable law.

FunctionalMatch is not a HIPAA covered entity or business associate. All personal and self-reported health information is handled in accordance with applicable law, including the Texas Health & Safety Code Chapter 181.

We require all third-party vendors who access, store, or process user information to provide contractual commitments to maintain the confidentiality and security of that data. FunctionalMatch personnel who handle user information are required to complete privacy training and sign confidentiality acknowledgments.

Third-Party Services

We may use third-party services to collect, store, and process user information. By using FunctionalMatch, you acknowledge that:

• Data may be processed by third-party platforms subject to appropriate data protection agreements
• FunctionalMatch requires vendors to maintain contractual data security commitments
• FunctionalMatch is not responsible for third-party system failures or security breaches beyond our reasonable control

Use of Artificial Intelligence

FunctionalMatch may use automated tools, including artificial intelligence, to support platform functionality as described in the Privacy Policy. These tools are used solely to support administrative and informational platform functions and do not provide medical advice or make healthcare decisions. Personal identifiers are not included in AI processing unless explicitly provided for a specific action.

Intellectual Property

All content, branding, design, and materials on this site are owned by Rootmatch LLC d/b/a FunctionalMatch and may not be used without prior written consent.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, FunctionalMatch is not liable for:

• Any healthcare decisions or outcomes
• Any interactions with providers
• Any errors, interruptions, or system issues
• Any damages arising from use of the platform

In no event shall FunctionalMatch be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages. Use of the service is at your own discretion and risk.

Modifications to These Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the platform after posting changes constitutes acceptance of those changes. We will post a "Last Updated" date at the top of these Terms.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, USA. Any legal action arising out of or relating to these Terms shall be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in the State of Texas.

SMS Messaging Terms

If you opt in to receive SMS communications, you agree to receive non-marketing, service-related messages from FunctionalMatch regarding your request (for example, responses and reminders for the separately requested service). Consent to receive SMS messages is not a condition of using the FunctionalMatch platform.

By providing your phone number and giving explicit SMS consent on the relevant service form, you expressly consent to receive automated and manual text messages from FunctionalMatch. FunctionalMatch will not share your SMS opt-in data with third parties for marketing purposes. SMS opt-in data is not used for AI processing or shared with providers without your explicit authorization.
